The platform has already powered over 60 million projects and is recognized as one of Europe's fastest-growing AI companies (TIME 100 Most Influential, Forbes AI 50, CNBC Disruptor 50). The company operates from Stockholm with growing teams in London, Boston, New York, and San Francisco.
As Product Counsel, you will be the legal partner embedded directly with product and engineering, operating at the speed of shipping. Your core mandate is to clear features before launch, embed privacy and AI compliance into product design, and build AI-powered legal tools that scale with the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Feature Review & Launch Clearance: Provide go/no-go decisions on features, integrations, and launches before they ship. Recent examples include health-data connectors, AI agents publishing user apps, open-source licensing in the client, AI-generated code ownership, and AI-generated content marking.
- Privacy & AI Compliance: Embed in product design to handle data use in new features, consent and disclosure mechanics, opt-out and deletion controls, and GDPR compliance end-to-end. You'll influence design while it's still malleable.
- Product-Facing Terms: Own feature and beta terms, program terms for partners and freelancers, user-facing communications for product changes or sunsets, and contribute to Terms of Service updates.
- EU AI Act Compliance: Track transparency and content-marking duties, map obligations against the product roadmap, and support negotiations with model providers to ensure retention caps and training bans are enforced in the product.
- Consumer & Platform Scale: Answer marketing, consumer protection, user-generated content, and liability questions across the EEA and US at scale.
- Enterprise Support: Own standard answers on training data, retention, IP ownership, and hosting liability for enterprise deals; join customer calls when needed.
- Legal Tooling & Automation: Build self-serve guidance, launch checklists, and AI agents to handle repeatable reviews. The team uses AI daily and expects you to automate your own work.
You'll work in Stockholm in-office with occasional US-hours overlap for San Francisco collaboration. The role requires a law degree and qualification in an EU member state, UK, or US jurisdiction, plus 3–6 years of practice counseling product or technology teams (in-house or via secondment) at consumer-facing tech or SaaS companies. You must have cleared products used by millions under real deadlines, applied GDPR inside live products, and handled real AI legal questions (training data, provider terms, transparency). Consumer-scale instincts, pragmatic risk tolerance, and comfort recommending with 70% of the information are essential. Fluent English required; Swedish not required. Relocation support available.
