Salary: USD 80,000 - 120,000 / annual

Panthalassa is a renewable energy and ocean technology company developing devices that capture energy from the ocean for applications including computing and renewable fuels. The company is a public benefit corporation headquartered in Portland, Oregon, backed by leading venture capitalists and philanthropic investors, with a team drawn from SpaceX, Blue Origin, Boeing, Tesla, Apple, and other leading organizations. You will join the supply chain team as a Procurement Specialist focused on sourcing high-performance compute infrastructure and hardware. You will develop sourcing strategies, lead supplier negotiations, and execute key procurement activities. Your responsibilities include leading the preparation and lifecycle management of purchase orders, supporting end-to-end compute procurement by coordinating with engineering and IT teams to source and acquire servers and hardware, supporting sourcing and quoting of new materials and services, performing price and cost analysis to ensure competitive pricing, identifying and resolving material shortages and supply chain issues, and managing the full supplier lifecycle from vendor onboarding and compliance setup through active performance monitoring. You will work in a creative, scrappy, and collaborative environment where the best ideas drive the company's direction. The role requires travel to vendors and test sites as needed, and the ability to work longer hours and weekends intermittently to support critical needs. REQUIREMENTS: Required: - 3+ years of procurement experience in a high-complexity manufacturing environment - In-depth understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management - Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience - Experience utilizing an ERP system to manage procurement workflows Desired: - Direct experience sourcing compute hardware, data center infrastructure, or server components - Experience managing Engineering Change Orders (ECO) within a fast-paced, high-mix R&D or production environment - Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles in a supply chain context - Experience collaborating with cross-functional Engineering departments to define specifications for procurement, evaluating supplier capabilities, and sourcing specialized components
