You will build and lead Parallel's Procurement function from the ground up as the company scales. Your core responsibilities include:
- Lead compute negotiations as one of the largest cost centers, structuring commitments with cloud and infrastructure providers that accommodate fast, hard-to-forecast growth
- Own vendor procurement across software, services, and infrastructure, managing the full lifecycle from intake through contract signature
- Manage content and data partnership payouts that are critical to product performance
- Partner closely with finance, accounting, legal, and engineering teams
- Build and hire the procurement team as the function grows
- Use AI tools to operate efficiently with a lean team
- Serve as a strategic, frugal negotiator who makes forecasting and buying easier for internal stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- You have been the first procurement lead at a high-growth tech company and built the function from nothing
- You have personally negotiated large, complex deals across cloud, AI, data, and software, with demonstrated wins
- You understand compute economics: reserved versus on-demand pricing, commit sizing, and flexibility levers
- You have owned the full flow from request to contract to payment, ensuring accounting integrity
- You are comfortable using AI tools to move faster with a lean team
- You have a track record of making teams want to engage early with procurement by simplifying forecasting and buying
