Stuut is a B2B SaaS platform transforming accounts receivable for industrial, chemical, and manufacturing companies. The platform automates collections processes historically managed manually, serving Fortune 10 brands through mid-market companies. Backed by top-tier investors including a16z, Khosla, and Microsoft. This role owns the top of the private equity funnel end-to-end. Private equity sponsors represent one of Stuut's highest-converting channels because they have working-capital mandates, portfolio companies with real AR pain, and the ability to introduce solutions across entire portfolios. The core challenge is coverage: thousands of sponsors and tens of thousands of portfolio companies require analytical triage to identify which portfolio companies actually fit Stuut's ICP. You will map sponsor books and tier them against Stuut's thesis, identifying which portfolio companies have genuine order-to-cash pain. You'll research and find the right stakeholder at each target—operating partner, portfolio ops lead, or CFO—not just the most senior name. You'll write and send personalized outreach via cold email, LinkedIn, and warm introductions, then book and prep first meetings for the PE Partnerships Lead. As you ramp, you'll run first meetings yourself, starting with lower-tier sponsors and progressing upward. Operational responsibilities include maintaining HubSpot hygiene for the PE channel (firm records, portfolio associations, deal sourcing attribution, stage tracking), building repeatable portfolio research workflows using AI-assisted tools, and pulling account research supporting live deals and sponsor meetings. You'll identify patterns in what converts: which sponsor types, portfolio profiles, and outreach angles are most effective. The role is sourcing and outreach-intensive. Expect high volume of cold outreach, frequent rejection, and significant grind in the first six months. In exchange, you'll build first-name relationships with 100+ sponsors and their operating partners within two years—substantially more sponsor surface area than a typical PE associate would touch. Successful performers graduate into Manager roles on the team, move into PE business development, or transition into operations. Ideal candidates have 1–3 years in PE deal sourcing or business development, investment banking, transaction services, or selling into the sponsor community. You understand fund structures, hold periods, value creation plans, and sponsor-to-portfolio dynamics well enough to have substantive conversations with operating partners. You can read a portfolio page and quickly identify which companies fit Stuut's problem set. You write clearly and concisely—cold emails that sound like someone who did the work. You're comfortable with rejection at volume and have experience in roles where most answers were no. You're AI-native, already using AI to compress research, and prefer building workflows to repeating tasks. You want to develop commercial skills, accept direct coaching, and are honest about knowledge gaps.
