Octus is a global provider of credit intelligence, data, and analytics serving hedge funds, investment banks, management consulting firms, and law firms since 2013. The Private Credit Analyst will maintain financial models and capital structure data across a growing portfolio of business development companies (BDCs) and closed-end private credit funds, supporting Octus's coverage of the private credit market.
Key responsibilities include maintaining three-statement financial models for 40–50 BDCs on a quarterly reporting cycle, uploading and maintaining capital structure data, and producing portfolio updates and summaries aligned to each company's reporting cadence. The role involves tracking financing activity across the BDC market, logging new reported financing from banks and lenders with cost of capital and provider details, and contributing to full private credit coverage used in individual company analysis, published reports, and site content. The analyst will expand quarterly trend reports to incorporate financing activity overviews and respond to recurring data requests from internal and external stakeholders.
Required qualifications include a degree in economics, accounting, or finance; ability to interpret financial statements to evaluate business performance and translate business drivers into quantitative models; strong analytical and problem-solving skills with tenacity to work through complex issues; strong interest in credit markets or financial markets broadly; and eagerness to learn and apply new skills for professional growth. The role demands financial statement fluency and the ability to manage complex, data-heavy deliverables on a recurring schedule.
