Zocdoc is a leading digital health marketplace helping millions of patients find and book care. The company is expanding its infrastructure beyond its marketplace to power access to care across provider websites, insurance directories, search engines, AI platforms, and more.
As Principal Technical Program Manager for Practice Solutions, you will own and drive the most complex, cross-functional technical programs across the business unit. Practice Solutions powers how healthcare practices run their day-to-day operations across every patient access channel: phone, web, marketplace, and partner syndication. This includes Zo (an AI phone assistant), provider directory and booking platform, intake and pre-appointment workflows, calendar and scheduling experiences, and services that maintain availability accuracy across channels.
You will operate at the intersection of Engineering, Product, Design, Analytics, and go-to-market leadership to deliver scalable, highly available, multi-tenant SaaS capabilities. Your responsibilities include:
- Organizing and driving the business unit's planning cadence, coordinating inputs across engineering and product to turn strategy into a clear, committed, sequenced roadmap
- Leading large, multi-quarter platform initiatives spanning Practice Solutions, keeping each part on schedule and the whole program moving
- Translating high-level business and product goals into structured program plans with clear sequencing, milestones, dependencies, and measurable outcomes
- Building reporting and transparency that give leadership a clear, honest view of status, dependencies, and risk
- Partnering closely with senior engineering leaders to anticipate architectural and operational risks before they surface in production
- Digging into technical issues at the seams between teams, triaging, framing problems clearly, and pulling the right architects and engineers together to solve them
- Surfacing tradeoffs between speed, scope, reliability, and technical debt, and facilitating clear, well-reasoned decisions at the right level
- Clarifying ownership boundaries and reducing cross-team friction where systems, incentives, or customer journeys overlap
- Establishing and refining lightweight mechanisms that improve transparency, accountability, and long-term platform health
- Communicating program status, risks, and key decisions clearly to executive stakeholders and business unit leadership
This is a highly visible role with significant autonomy and influence. You will bring structure to ambiguity, drive sequencing across teams, surface architectural and operational risk early, and keep the trains running on time while raising the bar for program execution across the entire business unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8+ years in Technical Program Management, Engineering Program Management, or similar technical leadership role
- Track record delivering large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in a product-led SaaS environment
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud architectures (AWS or equivalent), and event-driven systems
- Demonstrated ability to reason about architectural tradeoffs without owning implementation, with enough technical depth to hold your own in a room full of senior engineers
- Experience driving programs that span multiple engineering teams with shared platform dependencies
- Confidence to drive accountability and momentum across all levels of an organization without relying on formal authority
- Excellent communication skills, including clear written status and risk framing for both engineers and executives
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems) or equivalent practical experience
- Experience in healthcare or another regulated, multi-tenant domain is a plus
- Strong bias to action and ownership mentality
- Humility and ability to treat all people with dignity and respect regardless of title or tenure
