1Password is seeking a Principal Solutions Engineer, Acceleration to help define how the company brings emerging technologies to market. You'll work across Product Management, Product Marketing, Enablement, Engineering, Sales, Customer Success, and strategic customers to validate new capabilities, shape product direction through field feedback, and build repeatable customer-facing motions.
Reporting to the VP of Global Solutions Engineering, you'll lead technical validation for emerging products and incubating technologies from early development through general availability. Your responsibilities include partnering with cross-functional teams to translate field feedback into actionable product recommendations, designing discovery frameworks and reference architectures for the global Solutions Engineering organization, and delivering technical enablement through workshops, labs, certifications, and playbooks.
You'll lead strategic customer engagements, private previews, beta programs, and early-adopter initiatives, providing executive-level technical guidance. You'll identify emerging market opportunities and represent 1Password through executive briefings, conferences, webinars, podcasts, and industry content. Additionally, you'll mentor Solutions Engineers and lead initiatives that accelerate adoption and scale successful practices across the organization.
The role requires 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles within enterprise B2B SaaS, with a proven track record of translating emerging technologies into customer value and repeatable field motions. You need strong executive communication and storytelling skills, deep understanding of modern identity architectures, developer workflows, and AI-powered systems (OAuth, OIDC, SCIM, APIs, MCP, CI/CD, AI agents). Experience with enterprise sales methodologies like MEDDPICC and the ability to influence without direct authority are essential. Preferred qualifications include experience with private previews, beta programs, technical enablement, AI Security, Developer Security, or Unified Access Management, plus a track record of public speaking, technical writing, or thought leadership.
This is a remote position open to candidates in the United States or Canada, with up to 30% travel expected. All go-to-market roles require in-person onboarding in Toronto.
