Solo.io is seeking a Principal Solutions Architect to serve as the primary technical owner for a small number of strategic, post-sales accounts. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on driving customer success and adoption of Solo's API and Service Mesh Management Platform (Gloo). You will be the trusted technical advisor for some of Solo's largest customers, taking near-total responsibility for their technical well-being. Key responsibilities include: acting as the primary technical point of contact, developing deep understanding of customer use cases and architecture, leading technical issue resolution in collaboration with support teams, proactively identifying new use cases and adoption opportunities, consulting on best practices, delivering training and workshops, advocating for customer needs within Solo's product and engineering teams, and collaborating with account teams on renewal and expansion opportunities. Required qualifications: 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (Solutions Architect, Site Reliability Engineer, or Senior Support Engineer); deep expertise in cloud-native technologies including Kubernetes, service mesh (Istio), and API gateways (Envoy); proven post-sales customer success experience; ability to manage technical relationships with large strategic customers; strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills; excellent communication and presentation abilities; bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience. Experience with scripting/programming (Go, Python, Bash) is a plus. Solo is a VC-backed company founded in 2017, valued at $1B in 2021, with customers spanning all geographies and industries.
