UiPath is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and development of the Data Fabric platform—a next-generation distributed data infrastructure enabling seamless data integration, processing, governance, and security at scale.
In this role, you will architect robust, scalable, and high-performance systems while mentoring senior engineering teams. Key responsibilities include:
• Architect and lead the technical vision for the Data Fabric platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across distributed systems
• Design and optimize large-scale distributed data systems for ingestion, storage, processing, and querying
• Mentor senior engineers, establish best practices, and drive innovation in data engineering and infrastructure
• Collaborate cross-functionally with teams across locations to develop best-in-class solutions
• Identify performance bottlenecks, improve system efficiency, and ensure high availability for data workloads
• Establish engineering standards, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines for high-quality deliverables
• Evaluate and integrate emerging technologies (Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, Iceberg, Kubernetes) to enhance the platform
• Leverage AI tools and coding agents responsibly to accelerate development while maintaining engineering quality standards
Required qualifications:
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in distributed data systems
• Proficiency in system-level programming languages (C#, Java, etc.)
• Strong understanding of object-oriented programming, architectural design patterns, system design, and data structures/algorithms
• Experience with multithreading, synchronization, asynchronous, and cloud programming
• Hands-on experience with cloud ecosystems (Azure, AWS, GCP)
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices (agile, CI/CD, DevOps)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerization technologies
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to manage complex technical decisions and globally distributed teams
Nice-to-have skills include full-stack development, LLM understanding, GraphQL, data mesh architectures, and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
