Chargebee is seeking a Principal, Revenue Solutions - Field CFO to act as the general manager of the company's Revenue Recognition (RevRec) solution as a standalone business within its broader monetization platform. You will co-own go-to-market strategy, commercial success, customer experience, and product direction of the RevRec solution in partnership with the Product Manager.
The RevRec solution enables end-to-end monetization across revenue channels, connecting to the close process, supporting audit readiness, and presenting properly in financial statements. You will exercise authority over how the full solution (product + AI agents + forward-deployed experts + managed services) is assembled, priced, sold, and delivered.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Performance: Own revenue targets tied to new RevRec ARR, expansion within existing accounts, and new solution packages. Set pricing strategy and package structure in collaboration with product leadership. Participate as senior SME on strategic RevRec sales cycles, including pre-sales, customer presentations, and executive conversations.
Customer Experience & Adoption: Own the end-to-end customer experience from pre-sales through implementation, go-live, and ongoing close-process maturity. Define and improve implementation methodology. Hold accountability for customer adoption metrics (stable, auditor-defensible revenue accounting) and advocacy metrics (public references and active promotion).
Solution Design & Product Direction: Define what the RevRec solution comprises at any point—which capabilities are in the product, handled by AI agents, require forward-deployed engineers, or managed services. Partner with the RevRec product manager to translate customer accounting needs and audit-readiness demands into product roadmap priorities. Act as the voice of the customer and accounting profession in product decisions.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive alignment across Marketing (content strategy, thought leadership, pipeline generation), Sales (AE/AM enablement, positioning, pricing), Professional Services & Implementation (methodology, post-go-live stability), and Customer Success (renewal health, expansion signals, advocacy).
Reporting to the Head of Solutions with critical relationships spanning the full GTM and product organization, including the COO, RevRec Product Manager, and all functional heads.
Requirements:
Must Have:
- 10–12+ years of experience in revenue accounting, technical accounting, or revenue advisory roles with deep applied knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 in SaaS or subscription environments
- Direct experience with the accounting close process: reconciliations, journal entries, subsidiary ledger management, audit support, and financial statement presentation of deferred revenue and contract assets/liabilities
- Proven ability to advise Controllers, VPs of Finance, and CAOs and earn trust in rooms where accounting compliance decisions are made
- Experience designing and implementing accounting policies for complex arrangements: multi-element deals, contract modifications, usage-based components, variable consideration, and renewals
- Hands-on experience implementing or configuring revenue recognition systems or other accounting-based systems
- Solution and business-builder mindset: ability to think beyond individual engagements to portfolio management and product evolution
- Track record of commercial impact through building a practice, generating pipeline, expanding accounts, or shaping a product that customers paid for
