The company operates across 6 of 7 continents, facilitating remittances to underserved corridors and building financial services for diaspora communities. Backed by top-tier investors including Spark Capital and Canaan, the company has 250+ employees across 50+ nationalities. As General Manager for India, you will own the P&L, strategy, and execution for Taptap Send's India operations—the world's largest remittance market with over $130 billion annually flowing in from diaspora communities globally. This is a high-autonomy role reporting to the Head of South Asia, with full accountability for volume, gross profit, and customer acquisition cost across all India corridors. Key responsibilities include: - P&L ownership: Volume, gross profit, and CAC across every India corridor. You own misses and wins. - Strategy and sequencing: Decide which sender markets (US, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, UAE), communities, and channels to acquire and in what order. - Pricing strategy: Set FX and fee pricing corridor by corridor in a highly rate-sensitive, competitive market where competitors reprice daily. - Regulatory and partner landscape: Master RBI rules, manage bank partnerships, own payout rails, and build local relationships. - Product obsession: Stay closest to customer needs, feeding insights directly into product, pricing, and support decisions. - Diaspora engagement: Build authentic, cost-effective community partnerships across temples, gurdwaras, churches, cricket leagues, student associations, employers, influencers, and cultural festivals. - Team building: Hire, coach, and retain FX Advisors in India and growth managers in sending markets. You will be the face of India inside and outside the company, operating with total ownership and entrepreneurial autonomy. REQUIREMENTS: - 10–15 years in high-growth environments (startups, operations, consulting, finance, fintech) with demonstrated P&L ownership and unit-economics expertise. - Deep knowledge of and networks within the Indian diaspora; genuine understanding of migration patterns, community structures, and remittance behavior. - Commercial acumen: comfortable with pricing, unit economics, and CAC math; proficiency in Excel/Sheets required, SQL a strong plus. - Hustler mentality with sound judgment: ability to close bank partnerships, analyze corridor margins, and engage authentically at community events. - Regulatory literacy: understanding of RBI rules and compliance realities for cross-border money movement; treats compliance as a partner. - Multilingual capability: fluent in English; fluency in Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, or Malayalam is a genuine asset. - Willingness to travel regularly to India and sending markets.
