Hydrolix is building a data layer for security operations that enables teams to retain months of telemetry at a fraction of the cost of traditional SIEMs. The company addresses a critical pain point: security teams today must choose between keeping only critical data or paying unsustainable bills. Hydrolix offloads volume that SIEMs can't afford to retain while enabling fast queries over massive datasets—a capability increasingly essential as agentic SecOps tools emerge. As Principal Product Manager for Security, you will own the product strategy and roadmap for Hydrolix's security offerings. Your responsibilities span discovery, positioning, and execution across multiple dimensions of the market. Key responsibilities include: - Conduct deep security discovery through customer interviews, sales ride-alongs, and competitive analysis against Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, Elastic, Sumo Logic, and other incumbents. Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations. - Define the SIEM offload and augmentation motion: identify which workflows justify customers adopting Hydrolix alongside existing SIEMs and scope required integrations (connectors, SOAR workflows, log forwarding). - Scope the emerging agentic SecOps opportunity: understand what data layer capabilities agents need for triage and investigation, and position Hydrolix's query performance as a key unlock. - Lead and guide existing MSSP co-development partnerships and collaborate with Corporate Development on large-scale security partnerships and M&A opportunities. - Partner with Solutions Engineering to build compelling narratives for security buyers unfamiliar with Hydrolix. - Work closely with Engineering to scope product investments—from small experiments to major feature bets—and write requirements that connect customer problems to engineering decisions. - Engage deeply with go-to-market teams to align on positioning, messaging, and field execution. You will need 6+ years of product management experience, with at least 4 years directly on security products (SIEM, SOAR, log management, XDR, Zero Trust, or security analytics). You must understand how CISOs and SOC teams evaluate and purchase tools, and have familiarity with the MSSP and MDR ecosystems. You should be comfortable with ambiguity and able to build conviction from evidence rather than executing a predetermined roadmap. Strong written communication is essential—you'll translate complex market dynamics into crisp documents for engineers, executives, and salespeople. You need enough technical depth to discuss data pipelines, query performance, and log retention architecture substantively, though coding is not required. Bonus qualifications include competitive intelligence on major SIEM platforms, experience with log management or observability products, and a track record scaling technical products from early success to market leadership.
