RobCo is building autonomous industrial robotics solutions that combine hardware, software, and AI to automate factory operations. As Principal Product Manager for Robotics & Safety, you will own the long-term product vision across RobCo's entire software, AI, and hardware stack, bridging digital intelligence with physical systems. You will define strategic direction for smart, modular, and safe automation across the product portfolio. Key responsibilities include: establishing the long-term roadmap for software, AI, and hardware capabilities; ensuring seamless integration between software intelligence and mechanical systems at organizational scale; partnering with customers, executives, and engineering leadership to define product strategy with embedded safety and regulatory considerations; providing senior-level guidance on hardware concept validation, component selection, and prototype reviews; translating emerging technical capabilities into coherent product strategy covering perception, motion optimization, predictive maintenance, and risk mitigation; establishing frameworks for testing and continuous improvement; and championing product simplicity and safety as core principles. You will mentor other product managers and guide the broader product organization. The role requires 10+ years in product management for robotics, automation, or mechatronic systems with deep exposure to both software and hardware development. You need proven track record owning product strategy end-to-end, including go-to-market decisions and cross-functional alignment at senior level. Strong understanding of software architectures, APIs, cloud systems, and safety requirements in robotic products is essential. Deep hands-on familiarity with hardware development processes—mechanical design, component testing, manufacturing readiness—is required. You must be able to discuss robot kinematics, sensors, drive systems, and control architectures at expert level with engineering leadership. Demonstrated experience mentoring or leading other product managers, writing technically sound product requirements, and managing complex multi-team development projects is expected. Experience in agile environments balancing long-term vision with rapid iteration, strong strategic and analytical mindset, and excellent cross-functional communication skills are critical. Professional English fluency required; German is a plus. RobCo was founded in 2020 and has raised $160M from investors including Lightspeed, Lingotto Innovation, and Sequoia. The company operates 200+ people globally with 2.5M+ operating hours in the field, deploying robots across European and US factories. US operations are headquartered in Austin, TX, with a demo lab in San Francisco. The company offers flexible working hours, modern office, optional remote work, Wellpass membership, regular team events, and flat hierarchies with open communication.
