Komodo Health is seeking a Principal Product Manager to define and build the next generation of its AI-powered product suite. The company's Healthcare Map combines de-identified real-world patient data with AI algorithms to help healthcare organizations unlock insights on patient behaviors, treatment patterns, care gaps, and unmet needs.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focused on zero-to-one product development at principal scope. You will own the thesis for what customers touch, study how they actually work, and decide what should exist. You will build first versions of new products using AI tools and platform primitives, then scale what shows value with engineering support. You'll work inside customer environments when needed, scope problems in real time during contract negotiations, and treat deployment as part of the product.
Over your first 12 months, you will: (1) Put a thesis on record for the next generation of the suite, argued in working software customers have touched, and win cross-functional support; (2) Build the first version of at least two new products yourself, then run a pod of four or fewer from prototype to GA with no dedicated project management; (3) Ensure those products live in customer environments with measurable revenue, adoption, or retention impact; (4) Make the current suite smaller by retiring or folding at least one legacy solution into its successor without customer churn; (5) Own the thesis for what customers touch by studying their workflows and revising your argument as models improve; (6) Partner with sales and marketing on positioning, run market analysis, and ensure every new product can be sold; (7) Set the pattern—your architecture and build habits become how the surface pods around you work.
Komodo Health operates a hybrid model with hubs in San Francisco, New York City, and Chicago. This role can be performed from anywhere in the US. The company emphasizes AI integration across all work and is building intentional in-office rhythms alongside flexibility.
**Requirements:**
- You must show a product you built (not managed) during the interview process.
- AI native at product depth: ability to reason at a low level about AI products including context and grounding, evals and quality gates, agent behavior, and cost.
- Comfortable inside customer environments and contracting cycles, with judgment to commit responsibly in real time.
- 10+ years in product, including at least one product you conceived and shipped that earns real revenue today. You must be able to articulate what existed before it and what was retired to make room for it.
- Excellent written communication; your reasoning gets adopted because it is clear.
**Nice to have:**
- Healthcare or regulated data experience (claims, EHR, patient journeys, provider analytics), or a track record of getting fluent fast in a comparably complex data domain like supply chain, energy, or financial data.
- Time at a company through a platform transition.
- Experience retiring a product without losing its customers.
- Experience interacting with, managing, or building with AI agentic workflows.
