Graphcore, a leading AI compute innovator and member of the SoftBank Group, is seeking a Principal Engineering Program Manager to lead complex hardware programs through manufacturing planning, factory readiness, and engineering build execution.
Reporting to the Hardware Systems Engineering organization, you will serve as the operational hub between development engineering and manufacturing, ensuring alignment across hardware systems, electrical, mechanical, firmware, validation, and manufacturing engineering teams. You will work closely with external ODM, JDM, and contract manufacturing partners to drive successful prototype builds and product qualification.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading complex hardware programs through manufacturing planning and engineering build execution, partnering with development teams to ensure designs, deliverables, manufacturing processes, tooling, and test infrastructure are aligned
- Translating engineering requirements into executable manufacturing and engineering build plans
- Driving cross-functional execution across hardware, firmware, validation, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and operations teams
- Managing technical engagement with external manufacturing partners to ensure requirements and build objectives are met
- Coordinating manufacturing readiness activities, including engineering build planning, factory readiness, and qualification milestones
- Driving manufacturing test readiness by coordinating delivery and validation of production test hardware, software, fixtures, and procedures
- Commissioning and qualifying manufacturing processes, tooling, and test infrastructure
- Monitoring engineering build execution, identifying issues, and coordinating resolution
- Coordinating engineering change implementation across teams
- Leading cross-functional reviews of engineering and manufacturing issues, driving root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Monitoring program risks and driving mitigation plans
- Developing program reporting with visibility into build readiness, manufacturing readiness, schedules, and key metrics
- Driving continuous improvement of engineering operations and program management processes
The Hardware Systems Engineering team develops and integrates high-performance AI hardware systems, including server platforms, PCBAs, and mechanical assemblies, focusing on robust design, effective integration, and manufacturing readiness during early product development stages.
