- Architecting and owning the CDC-based streaming platform (Kafka → Flink → BigQuery), orchestration platform strategy, and lower environment infrastructure
- Chairing Architecture Review Committee decisions and serving as primary technical DRI for cross-team, multi-system, and cost-impacting changes
- Establishing engineering standards and production readiness criteria across all DPE systems, including testing, CI/CD patterns, observability, data contracts, and Schema Registry governance
- Owning data quality and observability architecture, including dbt anomaly detection, schema validation, and data drift alerting
- Defining technical strategy for self-service analytics and reducing DPE bottlenecks
- Evaluating and governing DPE-managed tooling (Fivetran, Confluent, etc.) including contract and cost management
- Owning data sharing, egress patterns, and reverse ETL (Hightouch) governance
- Driving cost governance for platform infrastructure across BigQuery, orchestration, and cloud spend
- Leading incident response for platform P1/P2 incidents and driving systemic fixes
- Mentoring Staff and Senior Data Engineers and raising technical standards
- Partnering cross-functionally on ML-ready, HIPAA/GDPR-compliant, and hardened platform capabilities
- Contributing hands-on to critical path work
The platform runs on GCP BigQuery, Airflow on Astronomer/EKS, dbt, Confluent Kafka, Databricks Delta Lake, and Terraform/OpenTofu, with active evolution including net-new streaming platforms and lower environment strategies.
