CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal CAD Designer to join their aerospace and satellite communications team in Austin, TX. The company develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms.
In this role, you will serve as a key technical resource providing advanced CAD design and drafting support throughout the product development lifecycle. Your responsibilities include developing, modifying, and maintaining detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation while ensuring accuracy, configuration control, and compliance with engineering standards.
As Principal CAD Designer, you will support engineering teams through design execution, product data management, and engineering change implementation. You'll also drive continuous improvement of CAD processes and documentation practices across the organization.
The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical expertise in SolidWorks, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex design data in a fast-paced startup development environment. This is a hands-on role in a dynamic, cross-functional work environment where you'll have the opportunity to work on leading-edge hardware for satellites, spacecraft, and aerospace systems.
