Anthropic seeks a Policy Partnerships & Convenings Lead to build and manage the Partnerships and Convenings function within its Central Policy team. This role sits at the operational heart of Anthropic's policy function, distinct from government relations and communications but essential to enabling both.
You will manage a team of Policy Partnerships and Policy Events experts, responsible for policy strategy with multinational civil society organizations, industry actors, and other third parties. Your charge is to make this work strategically coherent, globally scalable, and accountable to Anthropic's policy goals.
Key responsibilities include: owning Anthropic's global partnerships strategy and translating policy campaigns into a coherent portfolio of coalitions, alliances, memberships, and third-party relationships across regions; scoping and executing policy partnerships programs in regions where Anthropic is newly expanding; managing the policy events portfolio including tentpole programs and partner conference presence; building and maintaining relationships with key third-party stakeholders including civil society, academic, and private-sector leaders; creating systems to track, measure, and optimize the partnerships and convenings portfolio; managing and developing a small team; and building playbooks and delegation models for regional policy teams.
This is a builder's role as much as a manager's. You and your team will stand up credible partnership and events programs at speed, serving as a bridge between Anthropic's internal teams and external policy stakeholders. The Central Policy team works closely with federal affairs, state and local affairs, international affairs, national security, policy communications, and research teams.
Anthrophropic is equal parts research lab, policy think-tank, and technology startup, focused on safe AI development. Success requires being a trusted partner to both cross-functional colleagues and external actors, with demonstrated track records of operational and policy excellence. The role requires approximately 25% travel, including international travel to priority regions and travel to Anthropic offices for alignment and planning sessions.
