Flock Safety is seeking a Policy Manager to lead legal research, legislative tracking, and policy communications for a public safety technology company. This role sits at the intersection of law, policy, and communications, focusing specifically on the regulatory landscape surrounding public safety technology.
Key responsibilities include conducting comprehensive legal research on federal, state, and local regulations impacting public safety technology; tracking legislative changes and emerging regulatory trends in privacy and public safety; drafting and reviewing critical communications for customers, elected officials, and public safety stakeholders; partnering cross-functionally with Legal, External Affairs, and Communications teams to align messaging with regulatory obligations; and developing policy position materials to support compliance strategies and mitigate business risk.
This is not a traditional corporate legal counsel role, nor is it a lobbying position. Instead, it focuses on policy analysis, legal research, and proactive communications review. The role requires deep analytical skills to distill complex statutory requirements into clear, actionable recommendations.
Ideal candidates bring demonstrated legal research and legislative analysis capabilities, a track record of cross-functional collaboration across legal, communications, and external affairs teams, proven ability to review and refine high-stakes communications with attention to detail and policy sensitivity, and a background in law or public policy with experience in government, legal, or policy-focused environments.
