Aperia Technologies is seeking a Planner/Buyer for its Supply Chain team. The company develops innovative hardware and data analytics solutions for commercial vehicle fleets, including the award-winning Halo Automatic Tire Inflator and Halo Connect tire analytics platform.
In this role, you will own both demand and supply planning for assigned commodity groups, managing a mix of off-the-shelf components and build-to-spec parts. You will serve as the primary day-to-day contact for suppliers and contract manufacturers, maintaining deep visibility into their capacity and constraints while ensuring they understand Aperia's upcoming needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Translating production and sales plans into demand forecasts using appropriate planning methods (MRP, min/max, kanban, reorder point).
- Maintaining item master planning parameters in NetSuite (lead times, safety stock, lot sizing, reorder points) to ensure reliable MRP output.
- Managing the full purchase order lifecycle from placement through receipt, including expediting, de-expediting, and resolving discrepancies.
- Publishing rolling delivery schedules to contract manufacturers to support level-loaded production.
- Running shortage and clear-to-build reporting; escalating and resolving bottlenecks before they impact production.
- Partnering with Engineering and Quality on engineering change orders, managing cut-in dates and run-out of superseded revisions.
- Managing supplier performance using delivery, quality, and responsiveness metrics; presenting data at quarterly business reviews.
- Supporting inventory health through cycle count follow-up, aging/excess/obsolete review, and inventory turns analysis.
- Supporting new product introduction by sourcing prototype and pilot builds and setting up new items for production.
- Negotiating pricing, MOQs, lead times, and payment terms within approval limits.
You will work on-site at the Hayward, CA facility five days per week.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
- 3+ years in purchasing and planning (both preferred) in a manufacturing or hardware environment.
- Hands-on experience running planning and purchasing in an ERP system such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
- Strong Excel skills including pivot tables, lookups, and ability to clean and analyze several thousand rows of ERP data independently.
- Track record of resolving supply problems by coordinating cross-functional teams rather than escalating and waiting.
- Clear, direct written communication with suppliers across time zones.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week.
