Anthropic is seeking a Personnel Security Management Specialist to join its U.S. Industrial Security team. This is a foundational role on a newly-built team responsible for Facility Security Clearances, Personnel Security (PERSEC), contracts, DD254s, policies, and compliance across the Defense Industrial Base and U.S. Intelligence Community.
You will serve as Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) for classified contracts, managing personnel additions, removals, and upgrades while working directly with cleared employees, program managers, and government sponsors. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing end-to-end classified contract program casework across DoD/DoW and Intelligence Community contracts (collateral and SCI)
- Owning clearance actions from initiation through debrief using government systems (DISS, SWFT, NBIS) and IC-equivalent processes
- Designing and executing security education programs including in-briefs, debriefs, and ongoing training for cleared personnel
- Building and optimizing workflows for contract support, terminations, debriefs, onboarding, reporting, and training
- Managing counterintelligence/compliance event intake, including foreign travel and contact reporting under SEAD 3
- Serving as backup to the Facility Security Officer on FCL matters
- Leveraging AI tools (Claude) to automate PERSEC processes where feasible
- Handling special projects and time-sensitive compliance matters
Ideal candidates hold an active Top Secret clearance and bring extensive hands-on experience with DoD/DoW and IC PERSEC processes, terminology (VARs, NISPOM, CE/CV, SEAD 3, NISS, DISS, SWFT, NBIS), and work across multiple U.S. government agencies. You should be comfortable operating independently on compliance-driven casework, proactively identifying process improvements, and building trust with cleared personnel and government contacts. Experience designing and delivering security training, TS/SCI eligibility, Five Eyes clearance program knowledge, and familiarity with adjacent security functions (safeguarding, contracts, FCL, compliance) are valued. Willingness to travel approximately 6 times per year is expected.
