Salary: USD 220,000 - 275,000 / annual
Notion is seeking a People Partner to support the Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) organization as the company scales. This role bridges leadership strategy and individual employee development, operating across multiple levels of the organization.
You will build deep partnerships with EPD leadership up to C-suite, serving as a strategic advisor on talent planning, organizational design, retention strategies, and change management. You'll apply systems thinking to identify patterns and friction points in people operations, translating insights into improvements across programs and operating rhythms. Using people data, you'll proactively surface retention risks and opportunities to keep top talent engaged.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on and executing people strategies aligned with business objectives
- Supporting talent planning, org design, and retention initiatives
- Shaping and executing the 360 performance review process, including manager calibrations, training, and compensation planning
- Coaching managers through change, performance management, and employee engagement
- Providing targeted performance management support and developing manager training programs
- Offering proactive insights from people data to identify and address organizational hot spots
The role is based in San Francisco with anchor days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays for in-person collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in HR or people operations
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Engineering and/or Product environments
- Deep knowledge of HR functions: talent management, organizational design, employee relations, performance management
- Strong learning velocity and ability to ramp quickly on new organizations and evolving operating models
- Demonstrated experience building relationships with senior leaders and cross-functional stakeholders
- Solutions-oriented, analytical approach to problem-solving
- Ability to remain tactful and calm under pressure
- Highly adaptable and thrives in fast-paced, rapidly changing environments
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfort with async and global teams
- Understanding of state and federal labor relations laws
- Intellectual curiosity about AI tools and willingness to adopt them for improved work
