Salary: USD 100,000 - 110,000 / annual
LangChain is seeking a People Operations Specialist to serve as the West Coast anchor for its globally distributed People team. This role owns the end-to-end employee onboarding experience and serves as the primary HR point of contact for US-based employees during business hours.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the complete onboarding lifecycle: pre-boarding documentation, account setup, background checks, and coordination with IT, Payroll, and Workplace teams
- Facilitating twice-monthly in-person onboarding cohorts in San Francisco, covering compliance and employee experience
- Managing the first 90 days support structure, including check-in cadences, buddy programs, and onboarding surveys
- Serving as the first line of support for employee questions, resolving issues and building institutional knowledge
- Building and maintaining onboarding SOPs, closing gaps between in-office and remote experiences, and creating distinct paths for rehires and international hires
- Automating repetitive work using AI tools to increase leverage and identify process improvements
Required qualifications:
- 2–5 years of people operations, HR coordination, or onboarding experience at a high-growth tech company
- Hands-on HRIS experience (Rippling preferred)
- Working knowledge of I-9 and employment eligibility verification, including retention and audit requirements
- Documentation-first mindset with ability to create and maintain clear processes
- Comfort with AI tools and automation
- Discretion handling sensitive employee data (compensation, immigration, personal information)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, distributed team environment
Nice-to-have skills include experience rebuilding onboarding programs, immigration/visa coordination (H-1B, PERM, TN), global onboarding exposure, and familiarity with LangSmith or Claude.
