Rocket Lab is an end-to-end space company building rockets, spacecraft, and critical subsystems. The People & Culture team is responsible for supporting the company's global workforce across recruitment, onboarding, compensation, training, and development.
As a People & Culture Business Partner, you will be the first point of contact for day-to-day HR queries and will partner closely with leaders and employees across the business to provide trusted guidance on people matters. You'll help shape a high-performing, supportive workplace and support the delivery of the P&C Annual Operating Plan.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partner with leaders to support performance, talent, engagement, and organizational development
- Provide advice and support on employment relations, policy creation, and P&C best practices
- Work closely with payroll and legal teams to ensure accurate and compliant processes
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business
- Support the smooth running of the P&C team and assist with wider P&C initiatives and training
- Handle complex employment relationship issues and provide payroll advice
- Contribute to P&C projects and help build capability across the wider team

Note: This position requires ITAR compliance. For New Zealand candidates, background checks including nationality checks will be conducted. You must be eligible to access equipment and data regulated by the U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations. You may be ineligible if you do not hold citizenship of Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the European Union, or a NATO country, or if you hold ineligible dual citizenship.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years in a similar P&C Business Partner role, OR 8+ years' experience within HR
- Bachelor's degree in HR or equivalent qualification
- Experience with payroll processes and systems
- Strong capability with MS Office (especially Excel) and aptitude for learning new tools quickly
- Excellent relationship-building, customer service, and stakeholder management skills
