Courier Health is reinventing patient engagement for life sciences companies, helping people living with chronic and rare diseases access life-saving therapies. The company has grown from 60 to 140 employees this year and is at an inflection point requiring scaled people infrastructure. As People Operations Lead, you will report to the Chief People Officer and own the build-out of people operations systems, data, and programs for a rapidly scaling team. Starting as a team of one, you'll leverage AI to multiply your impact and establish the foundational infrastructure that enables the company to scale beyond its current growth phase. Key responsibilities include: **Systems & Infrastructure**: Design and implement a people function that runs on documented systems rather than institutional knowledge. Decide what to build in-house, what to automate with AI, and what to retire. Establish HRIS governance, policies, and handbook standards. **People Analytics & Reporting**: Define key people metrics, build executive dashboards, and translate data into actionable insights for leadership. Create visibility into team health and performance trends. **Total Rewards**: Own compensation strategy including salary band design, market benchmarking, and pay equity analysis. Ensure all compensation decisions are consistent, defensible, and fair. **Employee Experience**: Manage the full employee lifecycle from offer through exit. Handle benefits administration, leave management, payroll, immigration matters, and recognition programs. Maintain company culture as the team doubles in size. The role is office-first with 4 days per week in-person collaboration in NYC, reflecting the company's belief that best work happens through in-person collaboration. **Requirements:** - 5+ years in People Operations or HR, including experience at an early-stage tech company that scaled from Series A or B - Hands-on experience with a PEO and transitioning HR administration in-house - Proven ownership of total rewards including band design, benchmarking, and pay equity analysis - Experience building AI-powered workflows in HR or People context - Advanced analytical skills with strong spreadsheet proficiency and fluency in HRIS and reporting tools - Strong generalist foundation across benefits, leave, payroll, and compliance - Track record of building processes from scratch with bias toward action - High judgment and discretion in handling sensitive matters - Clear, crisp written communication - Bonus: Program management experience running cross-functional initiatives
