Belvedere Trading, a leading proprietary trading firm headquartered in downtown Chicago, is seeking a People Operations Generalist to join its People Team. This role sits at the analytical core of the People function, owning people analytics, HRIS systems, compensation market data, performance review programs, and offboarding processes.
You will drive people analytics end-to-end: defining metrics, building reporting infrastructure, and delivering headcount, hiring, turnover, and performance reporting that leaders use to make decisions. You'll supply and pressure-test people data behind key workforce questions across the employee lifecycle, working with People Partners to turn insights into actionable recommendations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the People Operations side of the HRIS and internal portal, including configuration, access, integrations, and data hygiene
- Leading compensation market intelligence and benchmarking; testing bands and guidelines against market movement; partnering with People Partners to model costs and recommend compensation actions
- Managing the performance review program from design through completion and reporting; running the promotion/leveling cycle with supporting analysis
- Running offboarding end-to-end, coordinating across People, legal, and payroll; turning exit data into retention insights
- Automating manual work and continuously improving how People processes run
- Supporting the broader employee lifecycle alongside the People Operations team, including onboarding, benefits and leave, and day-to-day employee questions
The ideal candidate carries People analytics and HRIS ownership at an analytical level rather than administrative: defining metrics, maintaining data integrity, and empowering managers and leaders to use data for decision-making. You should have enough analytical rigor to earn credibility with leaders and enough People Operations depth to own programs that scale across the full employee lifecycle. This role is ideal for someone who wants real ownership over how a growing People function measures itself, enjoys working closely with a small team, and wants to build something rather than maintain it.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years in a Generalist, People Analytics, HR/Compensation, or related analytical role, with real ownership of data, metrics, or systems
- Bachelor's degree required; equivalent experience considered
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms and data analysis tools (SQL, Excel, or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to work with large datasets
- Highly organized, proactive, and resourceful; someone who spots what's broken or missing and fixes it without waiting to be asked
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate data into recommendations People partners and leaders can act on
- Ability to run multiple concurrent workstreams (analytics, compensation, performance cycle, offboarding)
- Compensation and benefits knowledge a plus
- Experience with performance management systems and processes preferred
