Halter is a venture-backed agtech company transforming grazing practices for farmers and ranchers. The company uses innovative technology to enable sustainable, productive operations—allowing herds to graze without traditional fencing, quad bikes, or dogs.
You will serve as the People Operations Coordinator, supporting the People Ops Lead and driving day-to-day operations for Halter's US team based in Boulder, CO. This is a new, hands-on role created to support rapid team growth.
Key responsibilities include:
**People Experience & Culture:** Bring Halter's culture to life by creating welcoming experiences for all team members. You'll deliver team events and company celebrations, own how the company celebrates milestones (birthdays, work anniversaries, farewells), and ensure every person feels seen and valued.
**Office Management:** Serve as the backbone of the Boulder headquarters. You'll maintain office supplies and snacks, coordinate with vendors for repairs and maintenance, support office moves and space improvements, and ensure the office is a best-in-class workplace.
**Onboarding:** Be a first point of contact for new hires. You'll coordinate equipment setup, system access, and onboarding logistics; work with managers to ensure new starters integrate smoothly; and guide them through both practical and cultural aspects of joining Halter.
**People Systems:** Maintain accurate people data, systems, and workflows. You'll identify process improvements and implement better systems to save time across the organization.
A typical day might include welcoming new starters, managing office logistics, coordinating team events, handling urgent facility issues, and proactively planning for upcoming company activities. This is a generalist role—you'll take on varied projects as they arise.
Halter is backed by tier-one investors including Founders Fund, Bessemer Venture Partners, BOND, DCVC, Blackbird, and others. The company is on a mission to transform agriculture and sustainability.
**Requirements:**
- Valid US driver's license (required for coordinating vehicles and office moves)
- Strong operational and project management ability; proven track record of executing in fast-moving, ambiguous environments
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Calm under pressure; ability to handle urgent requests without losing focus
- High empathy and ability to read between the lines
- Customer-service mindset and hospitality orientation (hospitality background is a strong asset)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Systems-oriented mindset; passion for identifying and implementing process improvements
- Scrappy, resourceful approach; comfort with ambiguity and vague briefs
- Trustworthiness with sensitive information and strong integrity
- Self-starter mentality and hunger to learn
Note: The posting emphasizes that direct People Ops experience is not required. Halter values character, drive, and a track record of excellence in any domain (studies, sports, personal pursuits). The company encourages applications from candidates who meet most (not all) requirements.
