Salary: USD 75,000 - 85,000 / annual
Gradle is building Develocity, an AI-native toolchain observability and intelligence platform used by leading software organizations like Netflix, Airbnb, and Spotify. The company is at the center of how AI is transforming software delivery, shifting focus from code writing to specifying, orchestrating, verifying, and governing change.
You will co-own the operational backbone of the People team as a trusted first point of contact for employees worldwide. This is a hands-on, detail-heavy role in a small, close-knit, highly operational team that runs the full employee lifecycle across multiple countries and legal entities. You'll own real scope end to end, managing day-to-day execution that keeps people processes accurate, compliant, and on time.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning new hire onboarding from customized plans through day-one introductions
- Maintaining accuracy in ATS, HRIS, and connected tools with regular audits
- Running logistics for All Hands, Learning Days, and team-building events
- Managing engagement and pulse surveys and synthesizing results
- Owning the training calendar with People Partners, from scoping through materials
- Producing live training sessions and administering the LMS, including compliance tracking
- Automating workflows using AI tools
- Providing first-line support for employee questions on training, onboarding, and events
- Coordinating interviews across time zones and backing up the Lead Technical Recruiter during busy hiring cycles
The role is part of a distributed, remote-first team that values asynchronous communication and written documentation. You'll spot what needs doing and handle it proactively.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum: 1–3 years in People Operations, HR, payroll, or related administrative role (ideally in fast-paced, global, or remote-first environments); hands-on HRIS experience with natural systems aptitude; exceptional attention to detail; proactive ownership mindset; polished written communication with meaningful working-hours overlap with US and European colleagues; sound judgment with confidential information; ability to juggle multiple priorities and ambiguity.
Preferred: Multi-country or multi-entity payroll and global employment compliance (Switzerland, Ireland, EU markets); recruiting coordination or interview scheduling in ATS (preferably Greenhouse); equity administration (Carta) or PEO/EOR provider experience; software, SaaS, or developer-tooling company background; agentic AI tool usage; French fluency.
