Sandbox VR is the world's most advanced location-based virtual reality entertainment company, operating full-body motion-tracked holodecks where groups of guests experience immersive social adventures together. Founded in 2017, the company is expanding globally and seeking a People Business Partner to serve as a strategic liaison between the People Team and business stakeholders. In this role, you will act as a tactical HR partner supporting key business initiatives while proactively managing legal and compliance risks. You'll investigate and resolve employee relations concerns, execute informed decisions within established policies, and enhance employee experience by creating solutions within existing frameworks. Key responsibilities include: participating in organizational design conversations to streamline department structures and implement new processes that support rapidly shifting business demands (restructures, role re-purposing, joint venture integrations); serving as subject matter expert for FMLA, CFRA, state protected and personal leaves with precise tracking and eligibility determinations; managing reasonable accommodation and leave requests with effective return-to-work planning; coaching employees and managers on company policies, performance management, and development strategies; providing performance management guidance including counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions; developing close partnerships with functional teams to deliver integrated solutions; leveraging metrics and analytics to inform strategies and measure progress against organizational goals; executing change management strategies to support business evolution; partnering with People colleagues to identify key talent segments and pivotal roles; using employee lifecycle data to inform talent management decisions; conducting stay and exit interviews for store leadership and recommending actionable solutions; and assisting in developing, implementing, and maintaining HR policies and procedures. You'll work within a collaborative, people-first culture that values humility and collective success. The role requires availability for standard west coast business hours and offers full remote work flexibility across approved US states. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred) - SHRM-CP or PHR certification (a plus) - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills - Demonstrated confidence and resilience in managing challenging situations with a proactive problem-solving approach - Strong passion for supporting people and leading with a people-first mindset - Must be available to work standard west coast business hours
