The Product Development Manager (Factory-Based) for Bedding is a hands-on, factory-embedded execution role responsible for accelerating product development cycles and ensuring on-the-ground coordination across Quince's vendor ecosystem. This role operates primarily on-site at finished-goods and materials factories, owning real-time coordination, follow-up, and issue resolution to keep development moving at speed and with precision.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and actively managing day-to-day product development timelines for new products, color extensions, and size variants
- Driving accelerated sample speed and reducing development cycles from 28 weeks to 16 weeks
- Validating technical documentation handoffs to both raw material and finished-goods vendors
- Coordinating efficient, robust product testing to uphold quality standards
- Managing sample development to achieve 7-day average turnaround times
- Ensuring seamless coordination across all cross-functional teams
- Replicating quality execution for re-sourcing of existing products to new vendors
- Streamlining approval processes and eliminating bottlenecks in the development workflow
Success is measured by accelerated time-to-market, reduced product development cycles, perfect technical handoffs, streamlined sample rounds (from 2.4 to 2.0 per product), and consistent achievement of quality and timeline milestones. This role requires strong organizational skills, vendor management experience, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, factory-based environment.
