The Payroll Specialist Lead – Poland is a critical individual contributor role within Remote's EOR and Payroll Operations team, responsible for delivering accurate, compliant payroll operations for Poland while contributing to the improvement and scalability of global payroll processes.
You will own end-to-end payroll execution for Poland, including validation of payroll inputs, payroll calculations, and post-payroll processes. Key responsibilities include ensuring payroll is processed accurately, on time, and in compliance with country-specific regulations; acting as a subject matter expert on Polish payroll requirements and staying current with legislative and tax developments; supporting operational implementation and rollout of payroll services in new or expanding jurisdictions; serving as a key coordination point for internal teams and external stakeholders on country payroll matters; identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies, operational risks, or compliance issues; and contributing to continuous improvement of payroll operational processes.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders across Payroll Operations, Tax, Finance, Product, and Customer Success, while coordinating with diverse payroll partners. The role requires partnering with cross-functional teams to support system enhancements, statutory updates, and operational improvements, and contributing to the adoption of automation and AI-enabled tools that improve payroll operational efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
This role is well-suited for a mid-to-senior career payroll operations professional with deep hands-on experience running payroll in complex environments and comfort operating in globally distributed teams. You bring meaningful experience in Polish payroll operations, exposure to multi-country environments or global organizations, strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations, statutory reporting, and compliance requirements, and proficiency in payroll tools and data analysis. You are analytical, detail-oriented, a strong communicator comfortable in asynchronous environments, and demonstrate automation and AI fluency.
