We're seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist focused on Brazil payroll operations to join our Payroll Operations team. In this role, you'll manage end-to-end payroll operations for Brazil, including processing, validations, reconciliations, and payroll close activities. You'll resolve complex payroll matters related to earnings, deductions, benefits, taxes, social contributions, garnishments, and leaves. Your responsibilities include managing and validating Brazilian payroll requirements such as INSS, FGTS, IRRF, 13th salary, vacation payments (férias), and terminations (rescisões). You'll support statutory payroll reporting and filings, including eSocial and other Brazilian government requirements, ensuring full compliance with Brazilian labor, tax, social security, and payroll regulations. You'll perform payroll reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and partner with internal teams, clients, external payroll providers, and in-country vendors to resolve complex matters. As a subject matter expert in Brazilian payroll, you'll serve as an escalation point for complex inquiries, support payroll implementations and system enhancements, and participate in testing payroll system updates and regulatory changes. You'll identify process improvement opportunities through stronger controls, documentation, automation, and technology. You'll also provide guidance to other Payroll Specialists and Administrators, monitor payroll performance against SLAs and KPIs, and provide backup support to the Payroll Manager during urgent matters. Required qualifications: 3–5 years of hands-on Brazilian payroll experience, preferably in a payroll service provider, multinational organization, accounting firm, or BPO. Strong knowledge of Brazilian payroll legislation, gross-to-net calculations, and experience with payroll systems. Fluency in Portuguese and professional English proficiency. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a remote environment.
