inDrive is seeking an experienced Payroll Accounting Manager to lead payroll accounting operations across multiple markets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own payroll accounting functions end-to-end: processing, reconciliation, compliance, and reporting
- Serve as primary preparer for month-end and quarter-end close activities, including calendar management, checklists, and reconciliations
- Lead the accounting team in monthly and quarterly close presentations with management
- Design and implement robust accounting procedures, internal controls, and compliance mechanisms aligned with company policies and regulations
- Drive development and deployment of accounting process improvements focused on automation, efficiency, and scalability
- Develop and maintain technical accounting expertise in payroll accounting compliance, processes, and controls
- Draft comprehensive accounting policies leveraging US GAAP technical accounting guidance in collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders
- Identify inefficiencies in existing processes and design innovative solutions
- Partner with external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes and timely deliverable completion
- Assist with processing employee equity grants
Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in startup or high-growth environments, including 3+ years in a public company
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification (or equivalent) preferred
- Demonstrated experience with payroll accounting and related compliance requirements
- Proven track record of successfully leading process improvement initiatives and system implementations
- Proficiency in NetSuite or similar accounting software, with experience in financial systems integration
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
- Keen attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy
- Self-starter who works independently, identifies issues, and implements solutions without significant oversight
- Strong analytical skills to synthesize complex financial information into actionable insights
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
Strong candidates may also have: experience in fast-paced startup or technology environments, successful accounting system implementations or major upgrades, expertise in developing scalable processes, experience creating automation solutions for accounting workflows, ability to thrive in ambiguity and develop structure in unstructured environments, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
