Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for merchants like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. The Sanctions Screening team is responsible for real-time screening that checks payments and customers against sanctions lists and watchlists to keep merchants and their customers safe. In this associate-level role, you'll own the day-to-day operations and continuous improvement of the screening platform (Fircosoft Continuity). You'll be responsible for keeping the system healthy, reliable, and increasingly effective as the business scales into new markets and payment types. Key responsibilities include: - Operating and maintaining the screening platform to ensure it runs reliably without single points of failure - Designing and testing rules to reduce false positives and minimize manual case work - Managing watchlist updates and configurations to stay compliant with regulatory changes - Extending screening capabilities to new payment types and building automated testing frameworks - Collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive measurable improvements You'll bring 2–3 years of analytical or data-focused experience, strong problem-solving skills, and hands-on proficiency with SQL and/or Python. Experience with rules engines, system configuration, and testing is essential. Background in sanctions screening, AML, fraud monitoring, or transaction monitoring is a plus. Familiarity with emerging payment types like crypto is valued but not required. Success means measurably reducing false positives and manual workload while maintaining detection strength, ensuring reliable screening operations, and rapidly supporting new payment types as the business grows. The role offers real ownership, meaningful challenges, and recognition for impact. Checkout.com operates a hybrid model with three days per week in the London office to support collaboration.
