Carta is seeking an experienced Paralegal to join its UK Contracts team, supporting the company's mission to build infrastructure for private capital markets. You'll report to a Supervising Attorney in EMEA and work alongside UK lawyers and AI agents to deliver high-volume contract work with speed and precision. Key responsibilities include: owning intake and first-round markup of investment-related NDAs and related documents with tight client turnaround times; supporting UK lawyers with first-round drafting and ad hoc legal work to free attorneys to focus on complexity; setting up and coordinating client workflows, managing document portals, and driving contracts through execution; and maintaining quality standards that reflect Carta's reputation for precision in private capital. You'll thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment where you context-switch between competing demands without compromising quality. The role requires 2+ years of transactional or corporate legal experience, with hands-on exposure to commercial contracts and investment-related NDA drafting. Strong commercial and legal grounding is essential—you know when to flag issues and when to execute. Exposure to private markets, fund structures, or investor onboarding workflows is a plus. Carta is a connected platform and AI-native ecosystem for private capital, trusted by 55,000 companies, 1.8M+ equity holders across 160+ countries, and 10,000 funds representing $250B+ in AUM. The company combines software, services, and legal infrastructure to replace fragmented tools with a single system of record. You'll be a builder creating infrastructure that accelerates innovation and empowers ownership in private markets.
