Checkout.com is a global fintech platform powering over 10 billion transactions yearly for companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, and Uber. The Commercial Paralegal will join the global Commercial Legal team supporting rapid business growth across payments and technology. Key responsibilities include: • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate commercial agreements with merchants, suppliers, and partners; manage amendments and accessions while defending Checkout's positions in collaboration with Legal Counsels. • Commercial Advisory: Provide commercially-focused legal support to stakeholders across Sales, Account Management, Financial Partnerships, and Procurement on a broad range of global commercial matters. • Strategic Projects: Contribute to strategic expansion initiatives, new product development, and territorial expansion efforts. • Legal Technology: Adopt and utilize the company's developing Legal AI stack (Ironclad, Legora, Glean, Gemini) to support lawyers and business teams with agent-enabled legal support. • Knowledge Management: Lead projects to automate, improve, and manage team knowledge, playbooks, and external legal content. Develop processes and training to enable Legal and business teams to move faster using Jira/Confluence. Required qualifications: Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor's degree; 2+ years in-house experience as a legal professional (paralegal, legal assistant, or contract manager) in private practice or in-house. Desired experience: International work background, preferably in high-growth fintech or technology; demonstrated use of enterprise AI tools; excellent time management and ability to handle high workload; autonomous work capability; strong written and interpersonal communication; attention to detail; openness to new challenges; systemic thinking and process improvement skills; Legal Operations experience or interest. The role offers a hybrid working model with three days per week in-office to support collaboration and connection.
