Kong is seeking a Staff Solutions Engineer to support Enterprise & Strategic accounts in the UAE region. As part of the Sales organization, you will play an instrumental role in the technical sales cycle, working alongside Account Executives to help customers understand and adopt Kong's API Management & Connectivity solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support field sales in demonstrating the value of Kong API Management & Connectivity solutions to enterprise customers
- Build and grow trusted client relationships throughout the entire sales lifecycle, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through product reviews, demos, and production deployment
- Support Proof of Concepts (PoCs) throughout the evaluation process
- Onboard and train new customers while identifying revenue expansion opportunities with existing accounts
- Coordinate with support, product, and engineering teams to prioritize customer needs and ensure satisfaction across your assigned account portfolio
- Create technical documentation for DevOps, implementations, and services engagements
- Participate in lead generation activities including blog posts, webinars, and industry events
- Execute additional tasks as directed by management
You will work in a high-profile, fast-paced startup environment, presenting to C-suite and Director-level executives, Product Managers, and Engineers. This role requires deep technical expertise combined with strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of pre-sales Solution Engineering or equivalent experience at a SaaS, Open-source, or Enterprise Software company
- Experience working with Open-source technology
- Foundational knowledge of API Management & Integration, Cloud computing trends, and Open-source business models
- Confident ability to present and lead discussions with C-suite and Director-level executives, Product Managers, and Engineers
- Enthusiasm for working in a high-profile, fast-paced startup culture
Bonus Qualifications:
- Previous experience with API Gateway or Service Mesh
- Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of NGINX, HTTP, AWS, Postgres, and/or Cassandra
- Fluency with Linux operating systems
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
- Knowledge of DCOS/Mesos and Docker Swarm
