Allica Bank, the UK's fastest-growing fintech firm, is seeking an Outcome Testing and Controls Assurance Officer to deliver independent, evidence-based assurance that the company consistently delivers good customer outcomes in line with FCA Consumer Duty requirements.
In this role, you will plan and execute a portfolio of testing activities focused on Outcomes Based Testing (OBT) and Secondary Controls Testing. You will assess whether customer-facing journeys deliver outcomes consistent with regulatory obligations, review customer cases and communications to identify potential harm or process weaknesses, and evaluate both process execution and customer experience. A key responsibility is communicating findings clearly to stakeholders and agreeing, monitoring, and supporting action plans through to resolution.
Your day-to-day work will involve conducting outcome-based testing across customer journeys, reviewing documentation and communications for completeness and clarity, assessing control design and operating effectiveness, and maintaining accurate records in RiskSmart. You will engage regularly with Risk Business Partners and the wider First Line of Defence Controls team, escalate significant issues promptly, and contribute to continuous improvement of testing methodologies and reporting.
The role requires strong analytical and investigative skills to identify root causes behind poor outcomes or control failures, not just symptoms. You must be a confident communicator capable of presenting findings and constructively challenging stakeholders at varying levels. You will work independently with minimal supervision while remaining collaborative, and demonstrate a proactive, solution-focused mindset focused on improving processes and customer experience.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in controls testing, quality assurance, outcomes-based testing, or 1st/2nd line risk and assurance work, ideally within Financial Services
- Working knowledge of FCA Consumer Duty and Conduct Rules and their practical application
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with ability to identify root causes
- Capable of working in fast-paced environments, managing complex and competing priorities
- Confident communicator able to present findings and challenge stakeholders constructively
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining collaborative
- Demonstrated track record of going the extra mile, embracing new challenges, or standing out in previous testing, assurance, or risk roles
