Assured is modernizing insurance claims processing, a $10B+ annual problem currently dominated by manual workflows, phone calls, and faxes. The company provides large insurers with software solutions spanning self-service claim filing to ML-driven fraud detection.
This Outbound Product Manager role bridges Sales commitments and Engineering execution for carrier (insurance company) projects. You'll own the end-to-end delivery of new carrier launches—from kickoff through go-live—acting as the connective tissue between Client Engagement and Engineering teams.
Key responsibilities include: translating carrier requirements into scoped, sequenced work; designing the product ops intake process and prioritization framework; running cross-functional project mechanics (RAID logs, dependency mapping, critical path analysis) for high-stakes initiatives; making tradeoffs visible before they become fires; and identifying patterns across carrier projects to seed platform-level product improvements.
You'll solve for ambiguity rather than just execute plans. Most carrier requests arrive unscoped; you'll figure out what's actually being asked, what it costs in engineering time, and ensure the right stakeholders decide. You'll keep multiple concurrent projects honest on timeline and build the reporting/status rhythm that keeps leadership, Client Engagement, and Engineering aligned without constant meetings.
This is positioned as an on-ramp to platform product ownership. As you identify recurring patterns across carrier projects, you'll transition into owning the platform capabilities that resolve them—moving from ops orchestration into core product decision-making.
You should have real product ops or TPM experience in B2B SaaS or platform environments with external clients. You're comfortable being the least technical person in engineering conversations and the most technical in client conversations. You lead through influence and trust, not authority. You balance speed with rigor, and you learn domains quickly (insurance experience not required, but domain velocity is).
