Salary: USD 120,000 - 156,000 / annual

Adyen is seeking an experienced Optimization Data Analyst to join its Performance Optimization team in Chicago. In this role, you will independently lead complex analyses, support automation and experimentation projects, and collaborate with commercial and product stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that maximize merchant growth. Key responsibilities include analyzing large-scale payment datasets to identify performance trends and optimization opportunities, designing and building scalable analytics solutions and automation pipelines that empower internal teams, and partnering with Product, Data, and Commercial teams to translate business challenges into analytical solutions. You will lead complex A/B testing and data investigations, shape data-driven strategies, and validate hypotheses with analytical rigor. Additionally, you will drive strategic discussions by synthesizing complex data into compelling narratives tailored for technical and non-technical audiences, positioning the Performance Optimization team as a key business enabler. You will also support knowledge-sharing within the team, contributing to the elevation of analytical standards and technical excellence. You bring 3–5 years of relevant experience in data analytics, data science, or similar roles, ideally in fintech, payments, or high-growth tech environments. You have strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark with hands-on experience in large-scale data processing. You can design and develop efficient, scalable ETL and data pipelines with data validations to ensure reliability. You are familiar with big data tools like Spark and Airflow, and version control using Git. You have solid experience with data visualization tools such as Looker or Tableau and dashboard development. You possess a deep understanding of statistics, hypothesis testing, and data mining. Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills are essential, along with the ability to influence product and business outcomes. You are proactive, self-directed, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic, global environment, with excellent communication and storytelling skills that translate data insights into business value.
