Anduril Industries, a defense technology company, is seeking an Operations Engineer to optimize warehousing and material flow operations within its global supply chain. This role sits at the intersection of supply chain, manufacturing engineering, quality, and business operations, requiring active collaboration across teams to support the design, build, and deployment of advanced defense systems. You will own end-to-end responsibility for warehouse and manufacturing operations optimization, focusing on quality, reliability, speed, and asset utilization while meeting critical customer deployment and internal development timelines. Key responsibilities include: - Work across multiple programs from development through full-rate production, scaling best-in-class solutions aligned with manufacturing process maturity. - Proactively identify bottlenecks and imbalances caused by inventory processes, line layouts, parts shortages, staffing constraints, and other production issues; escalate to appropriate owners and drive resolution. - Own metrics, KPIs, and reporting for production line health and efficiency (cycle time, throughput, capacity, utilization, process non-conformities, inventory accuracy). - Conduct time studies of current and developing processes to ensure warehouse and operations efficiency. - Develop processes to optimize workplans for highly variable demands across multiple sites. - Translate tools and reports into actionable tasks that impact warehouse operations across multiple processes and facilities. - Produce and maintain tools using data-driven approaches (Value Stream Mapping, Process Mapping, Line Balancing) to increase accuracy of work demand for new facilities and maturing processes. - Drive incremental improvements and push them to the floor quickly, iterating toward world-class operations. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, resource-limited environment where you'll demonstrate holistic ownership of operational challenges and creative problem-solving. REQUIREMENTS: - Bachelor's degree in engineering - 3+ years of experience in a high-rate supply chain or manufacturing environment, building complex mechanical and/or electrical assemblies with heavy data utilization - Ability to read technical documentation (drawings, CAD data) and understand a variety of hardware manufacturing processes for electronics (PCBAs, sensor hardware), structures, mechanical components, and electromechanical systems - Ability to travel up to 25% of the time - Ability to relocate to Costa Mesa, CA if not already local; role requires onsite presence PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with Siemens Plant Simulation, Visual Components, or Process Simulation software for production line modeling and scenario analysis - Experience with department or factory design and setup (value stream mapping, flow lines, continuous flow, one-piece flow, workstation design) - Demonstrated ability to own a complete value chain from start to finish, measuring each process step and creating actionable tasks that drive significant, sustainable business improvement - Ability to present project results to cross-functional teams, clearly relating data to proposed next steps - Prior experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) for production operations or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) - Knowledge of NetSuite, Oracle, or similar Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems - Experience implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to drive manufacturing productivity - Hands-on project delivery experience including gemba walks, operational analysis, poka-yoke solutions, and low-CAPEX improvements - Experience with SQL databases for information storage and building custom queries for production and inventory-related metrics
