Electric Era Technologies is building high-performance, autonomous EV fast charging stations designed for industry-leading uptime and reliability. As Operations Engineer, you will own the health of a growing fleet of DC fast charging sites and battery energy storage systems, serving as the central point of operational excellence for the network.
You will develop, document, and maintain procedures and standard work governing corrective and preventive maintenance across charging equipment and battery systems. Your responsibilities include managing the complete work order lifecycle from intake through closeout, triaging and diagnosing offline chargers and power quality issues remotely, and monitoring fleet health with alerting systems. You'll build and maintain preventive maintenance calendars, coordinate parts and spares with supply chain, and manage third-party service providers and OEM field teams.
Additional duties include tracking vendor performance against agreed service windows, preparing warranty and cost recovery claims, vetting and qualifying technicians and labor providers, and supporting safe field work practices including lockout/tagout and arc flash protocols. You will investigate recurring failures to root cause, translate findings into procedure updates and engineering requests, forecast maintenance labor and parts spend, and participate in on-call rotation for after-hours escalations.
This role offers the opportunity to build a maintenance organization from the ground up while writing the playbook for a world-class charging network. You'll work closely with the Manager of Operations and Maintenance, partner with engineering teams and equipment vendors, and have ownership to make real decisions with quick impact visibility. As the fleet expands, there is potential to grow into a larger operations leadership role.
Requirements:
- Direct experience in maintenance, field service, or operations
- Track record of developing maintenance procedures or standard work
- Comfort coordinating third-party contractors and service vendors
- Working knowledge of vendor management strategies
- Day-to-day fluency with ticketing or work order systems (Jira, Service Desk, Salesforce, CMMS)
- Strong written communication skills for remote direction-giving
- Skill in communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Project management background with scheduling and task tracking tools
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally to sites
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience building or improving preventive maintenance programs
- Experience managing physically remote assets (EV charging, energy storage, utility, telecom, industrial equipment, fleets)
- Working familiarity with electrical systems (reading schematics, understanding fault descriptions)
- Knowledge of OSHA and NFPA 70E requirements (lockout/tagout, arc flash, job hazard analysis)
- Familiarity with OCPP and charger communication protocols
