Anthropic is seeking an Onboarding Program Manager to own the end-to-end delivery of the company's new hire onboarding program in San Francisco. You will facilitate weekly onboarding cohorts, ensuring every new hire receives a consistent, welcoming, and high-quality experience that connects them to Anthropic's mission of creating reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own weekly program delivery: Run each onboarding cohort from pre-arrival readiness through program close, maintaining consistency and quality regardless of cohort size or timing.
- Facilitate live sessions: Serve as the primary facilitator and host for every cohort, setting the tone for new hires and keeping the program on time and on message.
- Support presenters and facilitators: Brief and prepare speakers, panelists, and backup facilitators; deliver feedback and support content iteration.
- Oversee cross-functional execution: Partner with the New Hire Onboarding (NHO) coordinator to align Recruiting, People Services, Workplace, IT, and AV on start dates, device readiness, rooms, catering, and communications.
- Set the weekly operating rhythm: Prioritize and sequence program logistics and coordination work to ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
- Support improvements to the program's operating system: Work with the NHO coordinator to improve run-of-show documents, checklists, playbooks, and automations that make the program repeatable and scalable.
- Track program health: Monitor operational and experience metrics via new hire feedback; surface trends and friction points; bring recommendations that inform program design.
- Drive content improvement: Based on feedback and company needs, iterate on and improve program content over time.
- Plan ahead for change: Anticipate cohort size swings, holidays, space constraints, and last-minute changes with contingency plans ready.
This role requires being in the office at least two days per week on all programming days and as needed otherwise. You will work within the overall onboarding strategy and program design, with your job being to deliver the live onboarding program reliably, week after week, while spotting opportunities for improvement.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications:
- Interest in Anthropic's mission and helping new hires connect their work to it
- Extensive experience owning the end-to-end delivery of a recurring program, event series, or training program with many stakeholders
- Advanced experience facilitating or presenting to large groups, in person and virtually
- Strong project management skills, including building and running timelines, trackers, and checklists in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar) or similar tools
- Working proficiency with Slack and Google Workspace
- Exceptional written and verbal communication, including communications for audiences ranging from new hires to senior leaders
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate across teams without formal authority to meet fixed, recurring deadlines
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience running onboarding, orientation, or learning and development programs in a fast-growing organization
- Experience scaling a program's cadence or volume (e.g., moving from biweekly to weekly delivery) while maintaining quality
- Experience building workflows or automations with AI tools like Claude to reduce manual work
- Familiarity with program measurement, including survey tools (such as Qualtrics), feedback analysis, and reporting on program metrics
- Experience managing a bench or rotation of presenters, facilitators, or volunteer contributors
Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. A field of study relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience is required.
