Okta is seeking an elite Identity Architect to serve as the premier technical execution tier—a hands-on practitioner of Okta's own cloud platform. This is not a traditional architect role; you will configure, extend, and test the boundaries of the platform, proving it works in the real world.
You will transition from being an external customer to becoming the technical cornerstone of the internal "Okta on Okta" team, acting as Customer Zero. Reporting directly to the VP of IAM, you will configure, deploy, and battle-test cutting-edge platform features from Alpha through Early Availability (EA), giving you unique leverage to directly shape and improve the core Okta platform before solutions scale globally.
Key responsibilities include:
• Serve as the ultimate "Customer Zero" platform practitioner, bringing real-world customer deployment perspective into Okta's corporate IAM tenant. Act as the lead hands-on architect configuring Alpha platform capabilities and serving as the bridge to core platform product teams.
• Lead hands-on architecture and configuration of how Okta Platform governs non-human, autonomous AI workloads across O4AA (Okta for AI Agents), defining secure authentication, token exchange, and authorization patterns.
• Build internal technical deployment blueprints for anti-session hijacking defenses, leveraging Okta DBSSO, Chrome DBSC, and Okta Identity Engine (OIE) to create layered defense against token and cookie exfiltration.
• Act as a technical peer and trusted advisor to fellow hands-on practitioners at customer organizations, sharing direct, real-world tenant deployment experiences, trade-offs, and lessons learned.
• Contribute to technical content efforts including deep-dive video series, internal podcasts, and presentations at Oktane to share deployment architectures, tenant configurations, and technical playbooks.
You bring extensive, practical experience managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Okta in complex enterprise production environments. You possess active, hands-on mastery of Okta Identity Engine (OIE), Directory Integrations, Advanced Policies, Workflows, and Okta Platform APIs. You understand identity protocols, threat landscapes, and can architect solutions for modern security challenges including phishing-resistant MFA, Adversary-in-the-Middle (AiTM) attacks, and AI agent security.
