Fintual is building a new pension fund administrator (AFP) from the ground up in Chile, and is seeking a Compliance Officer to design and oversee a comprehensive compliance and ethics framework. This is a foundational role with direct reporting to the Board of Directors. Key Responsibilities: You will govern the Crime Prevention Model (MPD) under Law 20.393, designing, implementing, and maintaining controls while reporting directly to the Board on effectiveness. You'll manage the Anti-Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing (LA/FT) prevention program, including Know Your Customer (KYC) policies, due diligence processes, and timely reporting to the Financial Analysis Unit (UAF) under Law 19.913. You will develop and oversee the conflicts of interest policy for the fund administrator (per DL 3.500 and pension regulator standards), supporting the Board's Investment and Conflicts Committee while managing conflict registries, related-party transactions, and exclusive business scope protections. Additionally, you'll administer the Market Conduct Code, including information barriers ("Chinese walls"), personal trading policies, and monitoring of privileged information access. You'll ensure compliance with Chilean data protection regulations, including privacy policies, individual rights mechanisms (access, correction, deletion, opposition, portability), consent management for sensitive and biometric data, and breach notification protocols in coordination with the CISO. You will design and execute third-party due diligence processes for counterparties, suppliers, and business partners, focusing on bribery, money laundering, and other criminal risks. You'll draft and maintain essential compliance policies, including the company Code of Ethics and LA/FT Manual. You'll manage the confidential whistleblower channel, receiving and investigating reports of ethical violations with rigorous follow-up. You'll coordinate internal investigations into suspected regulatory or policy breaches, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions or sanctions to the Board. Finally, you'll design and deliver ongoing compliance, ethics, and anti-money laundering training programs for the entire AFP team. This role offers the opportunity to build a modern, digitally native compliance model free from the slow, manual processes of traditional financial institutions. You'll have full operational independence, direct Board access, and the autonomy to escalate concerns to senior leadership while designing clear policies and training that the organization adopts naturally. Requirements: Must-Have: - University degree, preferably in Law or Accounting/Auditing - Minimum 2 years of experience in control, compliance, or risk functions within financial entities or regulated organizations - Concrete experience designing, developing, or executing LA/FT prevention controls and UAF reporting (Law 19.913) - Mastery of Law 20.393 framework, including crime risk matrices and associated controls - Knowledge of conflicts of interest and privileged information regulations applicable to investment management - Knowledge of Chilean personal data protection regulations - Concrete experience with controls for LA/FT prevention and economic crime compliance (Laws 20.393 and 19.913) - Outstanding autonomy, independence of judgment, and excellent communication skills for direct Board and senior management interaction Desirable: - Knowledge and practical experience with the extended crime catalog under Law 21.595 (Economic Crimes Law) - Prior experience building a Crime Prevention Model from scratch (greenfield) in fast-growing tech or financial companies - Comfort with modern digital tools, alert automation, KYC software, or AI assistants for document review and compliance analysis - Experience implementing privacy programs or certifications (e.g., CIPP) and familiarity with information security frameworks (ISO 27001) for CISO coordination
