As Office Manager, you will run the New York office end-to-end as it scales from a handful of people to a full regional site. This is a hands-on role where you own the operational foundation: vendor relationships, facilities, security, onboarding, team atmosphere, and day-to-day logistics. You will be the person who makes the office work—managing the space, vendors, supplies, events, and the hundred small details that enable the team to focus on their work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Office operations: landlord/workspace provider relationships, access, security, health & safety, facilities vendors, supplies, and day-to-day space management
- Atmosphere and team rhythm: office cadence (lunches, all-hands, team dinners, offsites), partnering with Field Marketing on customer and community events
- Onboarding and offboarding: ensuring new joiners are productive on day one with equipment, access, desk setup, local paperwork, and a proper welcome
- Visitor management: hosting executives, customers, and candidates smoothly
- Vendor and budget management: selecting and managing local vendors (workspace, IT, AV, catering, cleaning, security, insurance) and owning the office budget, invoices, and renewals
You will work in-office five days per week. This role suits a hands-on operator equally comfortable negotiating vendor contracts and sorting catering orders, someone proud of a team that never has to think about logistics.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable record of excellence in office management, operations, startups, fast-paced teams, or similar—years of experience matter less than clear evidence of being one of the best at what you've done
- Fast learner with genuine curiosity; comfortable learning new skills with no clear owner and knowing when to bring in expert help
- Hands-on with vendors and negotiation, or confidence and judgment to develop these skills quickly
- Highly organized with a track record of running multiple parallel workstreams to completion without being chased
- Comfortable operating autonomously in ambiguous, fast-changing environments; you build processes rather than wait for them
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a service mindset toward the team
- Warm, calm under pressure, and the kind of person people turn to first; you set the tone of the office
