The Solana Foundation, a non-profit based in Zug, Switzerland, is seeking a New Media Manager to build Solana's presence across emerging platforms and formats beyond X (Twitter). Solana's crypto community is strong on X, but the next wave of users—younger developers, international audiences, and those new to onchain finance—are concentrated on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms.
In this maker's role, you will own the full content lifecycle: developing platform-specific strategies, writing and producing content, managing publication, and analyzing performance metrics. You'll create recurring formats that drive subscriptions and retention rather than one-off posts. Key responsibilities include:
- Develop growth theses for each new platform (YouTube, TikTok, Fomo, etc.), building native content rather than repurposing X posts
- Create and own recurring content franchises that audiences subscribe to
- Build a roster of on-camera talent from founders, builders, and creators across the Solana ecosystem
- Plan and produce content around major events (Breakpoint, Accelerate, Hacker Houses) with strategy developed pre-event
- Develop regional and non-English content formats for international audiences
- Execute rapid content turnarounds when moments matter (hours, not days)
- Translate audience insights into actionable feedback for the broader marketing team
- Integrate new-platform content into priority campaigns and launches with the Social Lead
- Manage editors and contractors to consistent cadence and budget
- Navigate legal review while maintaining authentic, edgy content
- Prioritize retention, subscriptions, and participation as success metrics over raw impressions
The Solana Foundation's marketing team is deliberately lean and fast, working across developers, founders, traders, institutions, enterprises, policymakers, and media to tell the story of what's being built on Solana.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrable success growing a YouTube channel or comparable long-form video presence, with quantifiable results you can explain
- Hands-on production capability: ability to take an idea from concept to published video without relying on external agencies
- Native fluency in crypto culture, including nuanced and difficult-to-explain aspects
- Strong instinct for content format—understanding why one video resonates while a nearly identical one does not
- Comfort being on camera or a clear plan for identifying on-camera talent
- Judgment to represent a foundation's voice rather than a personal brand, without becoming overly corporate
- Fluency with AI tooling for scripting, editing, thumbnail iteration, localization, and performance analysis
BONUS:
- Personal audience-building experience
- Editing proficiency in Premiere, CapCut, After Effects, or equivalent
- Experience with non-English audiences and localization
- Strong perspective on what crypto content gets wrong
