The Browser Company is hiring a Model Behavior Product role to shape how Dia (their AI-powered browser) interacts with users. This is a hands-on position at the intersection of product and AI engineering where you'll define intended behavior, ship prompt and code changes, and own evaluation systems that measure quality and cost.
You'll work across the full stack of modern AI product development: prompting, tools, model selection, agent harnesses, and evaluation frameworks. Reporting to the Model Behavior Lead, you'll collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to own problems end-to-end—from understanding user needs, deciding the right technical approach, shipping changes, and proving impact.
Key responsibilities include shaping Dia's AI experience by determining the right behavior for users and finding the optimal path (prompt changes, new tools, different models, better evals, or team alignment specs); shipping changes weekly in a hands-on capacity working directly with prompts, code, and data; grounding improvements in evaluation systems that make quality trackable; building internal tooling to accelerate team workflows; and staying at the frontier of AI by testing new models and prototyping architecture strategies.
Recent examples of Model Behavior team impact include prototyping the Morning Brief feature and leading the move to an agent harness architecture that now powers Dia's chat.
You should have 4+ years in product, design, or adjacent builder roles with hands-on experience shipping products from concept to v1 (founder experience is a plus). You think in systems, breaking ambiguous problems into measurable components and designing evals to steer outcomes. You use AI tools daily (Codex, Claude Code, Cursor) and stay current with new models and harnesses. This is an individual contributor role requiring hands-on work—you'll submit multiple PRs weekly. You're motivated by impact and thrive in fast-moving, high-output teams tackling hard problems. The company prioritizes North American time zones with 4+ hours overlap required with Eastern Time.
