Varda Space Industries is building commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, and satellite buses. The company designs and manufactures all major components in-house and operates its W-Series vehicles. As a Mission Assurance Engineer II (titled "Build Reliability Engineer II" in the posting), you will partner with design engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure spacecraft hardware is produced reliably and at scale. Your responsibilities include: - Creating test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for all vehicle hardware in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams - Containing and managing suspect or non-conforming product, providing technical guidance to quality inspectors, technicians, shop supervisors, and engineers - Leading failure investigations across production, test, and operational phases; identifying root causes and implementing mitigations to reduce risk and improve design and process reliability - Providing critical peer review of hardware during design reviews and acceptance/qualification test campaigns - Supporting Quality, Flight Reliability, and broader Mission Assurance functions as needed The ideal candidate is a responsible, collaborative, process-oriented engineer with hands-on experience in hardware design, testing, manufacturing, and troubleshooting. This role requires the ability to work across multiple disciplines and communicate technical findings to diverse stakeholders. Varda is headquartered in El Segundo, California, with additional offices in Washington, DC and Huntsville, Alabama.
