Wave is building financial services to make Africa the first cashless continent. The company operates a mobile money platform across 9 Sub-Saharan African countries, enabling cash deposits, withdrawals, peer-to-peer payments, and business transactions with no account fees.
As Merchant Distribution Supervisor, you will lead a team of 25-50 merchant distributors in Abidjan, driving user acquisition and merchant onboarding for Wave's "Payez avec Wave" payment product. You'll be responsible for implementing Wave's rapid growth strategy in your territory by managing field teams, training new distributors, and ensuring they effectively guide users through signup and product adoption.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and coaching a team of 25-50 merchant distributors
- Onboarding and training new distributors on product features, user guidance, and company values
- Planning and executing distribution activities in collaboration with Territory Leads and Regional Leads
- Monitoring daily distributor performance and providing constructive feedback
- Gathering field insights and communicating product/UX improvement suggestions to the engineering team
- Coordinating with the Below the Line Marketing team to maintain Wave's visibility and presence in Côte d'Ivoire
- Driving user acquisition targets in your assigned geographic area
This is a permanent, field-based role requiring fluency in French, strong communication and sales skills, team management experience or distribution background, and analytical ability. You should be detail-oriented, proactive, and excited about working in the field to drive financial inclusion across West Africa.
